Yes, Dr Yes is a real doctor!
Yes, Dr Yes is a real doctor! an anthropologist. There, I've outed myself, though anyone who can figure out who I am from that confession, and from the odd clues in my profile (or if someone just plain recognizes me from the photos I've uploaded), is surely as compromised as I am. So I guess no worries. not Anthro-ing XMatch, but it sure is interesting for the anthropologically inclined. Leave aside the scammers, astonished how many genuine people there are on this website. What I can't figure is whether this is just how people meet potential partners in our digital age, or if instead the presence of so many people trying to form real relationships on a platform clearly designed to facilitate deception is a sign of profound alienation. The loneliness of so many of the participants in this community is just heartbreaking. But with the caveat that the loneliness of the profiles is exactly what it seems, as opposed to all the others who are doing their best to present an image that looks more confident than they really are. This is a wilderness of mirrors. I think I may have met some women who I really could love, but only if what I see in the virtual world resonates with the actual people communicating with. I don't expect exact fidelity between profile/image and reality. A correspondence of 75-80% would be enough that I could forgive the variance. But in the end just absolutely fascinated with trying to figure who really talking to. There must be others on this site who are just gobsmacked by this place? |
